Toronto is the largest city in Canada and also the provincial capital of Ontario. It is located in the southern part of Ontario on the northwestern bank of Lake Ontario. Toronto is a safe, clean cosmopolitan city with a large number of parks, cultural and recreational facilities.

Toronto has four professional sports teams and it is the third largest English-speaking theatre zone in the world. It is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the world because it is home to over than 80 ethnic communities. This impressive capital city is also the business centre of Canada. Languages Spoken

In Toronto are two official Canadian languages, English and French, but there you can here any other languages, as Chinese, Italian, Tamil, Portuguese and Spanish. They are the most used languages.

Culture

Toronto city is filled with cultural values and invests heavily into them. This is why Toronto has more than six opera companies, two symphony orchestras, fifty ballet and dance companies and a host of theatres. Canadian Stage Company presents in every summer time an outdoor Shakespeare production which is organized at Toronto’s High Park. Toronto is the third largest production centre for film and television and it is sharing the nickname “Hollywood North” with Vancouver.

Money Matters

Toronto offers for visitors world-class products without huge prices. Others say that an exchange rate doesn’t hurt, either. So be sure that you will need an extra bag for the things you will buy there.

Toronto’s currency is the Canadian dollar. There are some important things to do about the money using here: under five dollars they use coins- some of them wear a cute name (loonie for $1, and toonie for $2); U.S. dollars are accepted in most parts of Toronto`s establishments; you can find there many cash machines, credit cards are accepted at most major retailers and you will see that Canadian people are very understanding and helpful.

Toronto is a famous international centre for finance and business and it is the financial capital of Canada. The capital city of Ontario has many banks and brokerage. The Toronto Stock Exchange is the seventh largest stock exchange in the world. The city is a very important centre for the publishing, telecommunication, media and film production industries.
