British Columbia, also often mentioned as BC is a province situated in the western part of Canada and in its neighboring region there are several internationally renowned travelling destinations which draw many visitors throughout the whole year. Below you can read more about three wonderful cities, namely Banff, Calgary and Seattle. All three have something special about them that make them worth visiting. Try the national park at Banff, watch the rodeo in Calgary or visit the Emerald City and take a hike in the Cascade and Olympic mountains. Go beyond BC and gain more travelling experience.

Banff, the four season destination

There are many travelers who come from all over the world to see the beautiful city of Banff and also visit the oldest national park in the world, which is enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With the Rocky Mountains and its peaks and glaciers in the background the town and the park are surrounded by magnificent landscapes. The place is a recreation destination suitable in all four seasons. You can go snowboarding and skiing during winter season or biking and hiking through the mountain trails. Take a ride to Jasper and Lake Louise to experience the wild wilderness dotted with fields of ice, wildflower meadows, green forests, vivid blue lakes and amazing peaks.

Calgary – land of cowboys and rodeos

The city of Calgary, Alberta is very rich in oil and of course, cowboys. If you visit at the right time you can be part of the largest annual rodeo of Canada, the Stampede, which is well known all over the world. In 1988 Calgary gave place to the Olympic Winter Games but this event is not the only sporting legacy the town has. Many athletes from all over the world come here to train for boarding, skiing and bobsled or mountain biking at Canada Olympic Park. Visit the town of athletes and you might run into one of your favorite sportsman. Be sure it is a worth visiting place beyond BC.

Seattle – The Emerald City

Just like many other Canadian towns, Seattle is also surrounded by magnificent mountain ranges such as the Cascade and the Olympic. Join the locals in hiking, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking and mountain biking. Seattle is also famous for being the home of the famous Jimmy Hendrix and the popular television series “Frasier”. Seattle is also where Microsoft’s and Starbucks’ headquarters are to be found. There are lots to see in Seattle starting from galleries, architecture, museums and other entertainments such as concerts and festivals. Visit Seattle and you will not be bored for sure.
